Financial reimbursements and compensation

Financial reimbursements and compensation

Occasionally residents of Lighthouse Landing Estates are financially reimbursed by the strata for a purchase they have made, a workshop they have attended, or compensated for work they have been contracted to do on  Common Property (CP) and Limited Common Property (LCP). In order to maintain good financial records, Council requires proper documentation and requests that residents use the forms below to make financial claims.

Before making a financial claim, residents must receive approval from the Council member responsible for that area. Residents may receive approval for the following with regards to Common Property, Limited Common Property or the strata organization:

  • Purchasing materials or services.
  • Prepaying for equipment or contracted work.
  • Carrying out work as a contractor for the strata.
  • Mileage at a rate of $0.61 per kilometre.
  • VISOA workshop ticket.

In order to make a claim, please download and complete one of these forms.

The totals will generate automatically when completed using Excel. Add your name to the filename when you save the file. You may save it as either a PDF or Excel file and email it, along with scanned receipts, to the council member who approved the project. That council member will review it and forward it to the Treasurer for payment.

Resident contractors:

As residents of LLE, we try to keep our monthly fees low by volunteering on Council, committees and for work parties. However, from time to time residents are contracted to carry out maintenance and other tasks required on Common Property and Limited Common Property, or by the strata organization. If you are interested in being contracted by the strata, please let Council know what your area of expertise is. Note: you will only be compensated for tasks that are pre-approved by Council.

  • Resident contractors are paid at a rate of $25 per hour.
  • Mileage is paid at a rate of $0.61 per kilometre. Note: travel time is always voluntary.
