Some tree cutting coming up

Hi all –

Sometime over the next week (probably this week Thursday or Friday) Dale Phillips Tree Service is expected to be here to take down several hazardous trees between units 28 and 29.  (There are 3 big leaning black cottonwoods, and also 3 other smaller poplars near by those cottonwoods, that both Dale and the other tree service company I had come out to look said ought to come down.)

Dale will have two guys along to help him.  I said that we (strata residents) can usually help too, if there are helpful things we can do without getting in the way.  However, this area is a small-ish area, and there cannot be many people there while the cutting is going on because we don’t want anyone injured by falling wood.  The main thing we may be able to help with is pulling branches over to where the chipper will be, on the driveway.

I and a couple of others will be around to see how and when we can help.  If you would like to help too, please c’mon by once you see and hear the work underway, and we can figure things out from there!  Dale expects it may take 2 days to do this job

Dale will chip and take away the branches.  But he won’t be taking the bucked-up tree trunk pieces.

The black cottonwood is not great for burning, and the wood supply up by the LLE firepit seems pretty robust already, so I have asked Dale whether he knows someone who would be interested to come take the bucked-up wood away.  Dale is checking into that and will let me know.

Just wanted to let you know that this will all be happening soon!

thanks –
