Hi all –
Today Dale Phillip’s Tree Service took down the remaining hazard trees between units 28 and 29. They were BIG trees, with a LOT of wood!
Much thanks to Adrian, Gillian and Joanne for lots of help moving wheelbarrows full of major chunks of tree over to the truck. And thanks to Sylvia for the really good apple cake to fortify us, at just the right moment!!
Dale took away two full trucks of wood today, and he will return for the remaining pieces that didn’t fit sometime in the next week or so.
Tomorrow (Friday) morning, 9:30 a.m. we will be doing the “clean up” of the small bits on the lawn. And – we need about 6-8 people with good backs, to help carry two tarps with those clean-up bits on them over to the branches pile in the compost piles. With 6-8 people per tarp load (sort of like carrying the flag to the flag raising in the Olympics, only different, eh) , it won’t be very heavy per person and should be quick work (15-30 minutes, I suspect).
I will be over there around 9:00 to rake up the bits into piles to prepare for the “tarp teams”. If anyone would like to help with the raking, please c’mon over then! 🙂
thanks!
Violet (LLE Council, Landscaping)
