Hi once more – my last email for today for y’all! (Clearly, spring has sprung, with all these emails from me, eh!)
For the yard waste materials that we put “behind that fence” by the creek for the landscaping crew to take away, please sort the materials into two piles:
- put the smaller regular yard waste (plants, weeds, stuff with soil attached) in one pile, closer to the road.
- put branches, twigs, and tough long fibrous plants like long pampas grasses, on the other pile (closer to the creek). Island Mowing will come chip that pile from time to time and remove it.
Please make sure there are no plastic bits (tags, bags, containers, hangers, etc.) in with any of these materials, because Island Mowing cannot take the stuff away for us if there is plastic mixed in (because the facilities they take it to won’t accept as compost, anything with any plastic in it). Thanks muchly!
Probably later today (or sometime tomorrow) I will go put little signs by the yard waste piles behind the fence to identify which pile is for what, to make it all easy to figure out.
thanks all –
Violet (LLE Council, Landscaping)
