Hi all –
As approved in the budget at our AGM, Hud Elgood (Branching Out Urban Forestry) will be coming to remove a bunch of “hazard trees” from the ditch for us, as the first part of a 3-year plan to remove 40+ trees that he as an Arborist has identified as hazard trees that are in the ditch.
The dates I have scheduled with him to do this, for this year, are November 22 – 24. Likely starting around 9 a.m. – but I will confirm the time once we are closer to those dates.
Hud charges by the hour, and when we help, he is able to remove more trees in the same amount of time. We have helped him in the past, and he welcomes our help.
We can help him with:
- dragging brush to the chipper
- moving wood (bucked-up pieces) to the truck, and
- helping with raking and clean-up.
So, if you are willing and able to help, please mark those dates on your calendars 🙂
Hud and I will walk the ditch once more ahead of time (either the week before, or first thing on the morning of Nov. 22) to identify the specific trees to come out this year. I expect we will focus on the trees that are currently leaning towards our units, as the first priority.
Thanks –
Violet (from the Landscaping Committee)
