This Thursday morning a group of owners including the Waste Water Management Subcommittee performed three jobs involving our gravel filter and our disposal field perimeter drain. The group high pressure water washed all 33 distribution laterals in the gravel filter, removed and replaced 19 threaded lateral end plugs that had been cemented (in error) during original construction and removed a blockage in our perimeter drain between Unit 2 and Gainsberg.
Several Subcommittee members were involved in the work but we were assisted by several owners who saw something going on and stepped up to make the jobs easier and faster. The lateral flushing removed a lot of foreign material from the laterals. Eliminating the cemented threaded plugs made the flushing more effective. The plug in our perimeter drain had the potential to impact the performance of our disposal field..
A special THANK YOU is due to Violet van Rees in Unit 4, Buck (Dave) Charest in unit 5, Gord Forster in Unit 9, Dave Milligan in Unit 11, Larry Highcock in Unit 17 and John Gurak in Unit 24.
