The Strata Council is looking for volunteers to sit on a committee of 3-5 people to recommend fencing guidelines for the strata. Since there are a number of fenced areas within our complex, precedent has been set and we cannot deny future alteration applications for more fenced areas. Therefore Council would like to have a set of guidelines for approving/denying future fences. Existing fencing will be grandfathered in, but these guidelines will apply to existing fencing should it be modified in the future.
Council would like to have some guidance on:
- what can be fenced;
- the size of fenced areas;
- should there be changes to current fencing guidelines to allow the inclusion of decorative panels, and if so, what should the guidelines be for that; and
- what guidelines ought to be in place for the “look” of the metal fencing that needs to be within 1.8 metres of the strata unit walls (to align with FireSmart practices).
Once the committee is set up, the committee will organize itself, and will meet to have recommendations ready for council prior to the early July council meeting, so that final recommendations can be drafted for the August AGM.
Please submit your name to Adrian Johnston, VP/Bylaws if you are interested in working on this committee.
