The consequences of using rat poison? Please consider!

I understand some at LLE have experienced issues with rats this winter and, understandably, want to be rid of the vermin.  Did you know that rat poison often results in also killing owls and cats?  Rats that have ingested rat poison don’t die immediately and, because they begin feeling unwell, become easy prey for cats and owls.  When these animals eat poisoned rats, it kills our cats and, frequently, our wonderful hooting neighbours that reside in the woods that surround us.  Killing off the owls and cats is not only sad and tragic…it is killing nature’s best rat killers.

Please consider using rat traps instead and ditch the poison!
