The company Weed Man has the subcontract (to our landscaping contract with Best Turf) to apply pellet fertilizer for our grass, and spray-on iron for moss control, about once a month. One guy walks around spraying patches that need it with a hose connected to their truck – that is the iron spray for moss control. Another guy walks around with a little spreader wagon – that is the pellet fertilizer.
The products they are using are not toxic to humans or animals. But, the sprayed-on liquid iron product when freshly applied apparently might cause some slight discoloration of fur or fabric so it is recommended that people and pets stay off the grass for about 4 hours once it is applied.
